Event Description
Professor Kalleeny will speak on Arabic poetry and its influences and provide an overview of an era in which poets reigned supreme in aristocratic Al-Andalus. This is a period, unlike our own, when poets were venerated at court.
Jews and Christians wrote poetry in the predominant language of the time, Arabic.
