Event Description:
An internationally renowned journalist and author, Gershom Gorenberg is a senior correspondent for The American Prospect. He has written for The Atlantic Monthly, The New York Times Magazine, The New York Review of Books, Foreign Policy and in Hebrew for Haaretz. He is the author of The Unmaking of Israel (2011) and The Accidental Empire: Israel and the Birth of the Settlements, 1967-1977. "Until I read The Unmaking of Israel," says novelist Michael Chabon, "I didn't think it could be possible to feel more despairing, and then more terribly hopeful, about Israel." Gorenberg has been a visiting professor at the Columbia Graduate School of Journalism and will return to Columbia in the spring of 2014.
