Research: CREATIV Funding Opportunity From the NSF for Interdisciplinary Research

Event Description
Submission window for this opportunity is any time between December 1, 2011 and June 15, 2012
A new funding opportunity, recently announced by NSF for 2012 through the existing INSPIRE (Integrated NSF Support Promoting Interdisciplinary Research and Education) initiative. This program, entitled "Creative Research Awards for Transformative Interdisciplinary Ventures" (CREATIV) will fund interdisciplinary research that is high risk and transformative and may not therefore fit in any one of NSF's intellectually distinct programs or divisions. The other key feature of the program is that only an internal merit review by NSF staff will be required for CREATIV proposals for award amounts up to $1M for five years. Your "gateway" to submitting a CREATIV proposal is to obtain written invitations from program directors representing at least two intellectually distinct NSF divisions or programs.
